The Stampede will play 12 home games at McKay High School between April - June 2009. Our season tickets are extremely affordable and make great gifts for basketball fans.

Stampede looking for interns
The goal of our internship program is to customize every student’s experience by providing practical opportunities for developing skills, strategies and job experience in the field of sports business. The Salem Stampede interns are included in every asset of our business and we invite them to sit in on business meetings and be a part of our game day operations. Stampede internships will provide a fun learning environment conducive to a positive learning experience for anyone who desires to learn more about the exciting world of working in sports.
Salem Stampede Internships are non-paid, credit only positions offered for spring, summer, fall and winter terms with flexible start and finish dates. We ask that students be prepared to work 10 hours per week for a minimum of three months. We are flexible with accommodating college schedules and any other part time employment commitments.

Salem Stampede Will Return in 2009 The Salem Stampede are already gearing up for the 2009 season in the International Basketball League (IBL). The Stampede won the Southwest Division championship and finished with an overall record of 19-4. The best in the IBL. “I think we opened some eyes last year with our division title,” said Veliz.
The IBL is strong and gaining in popularity. The IBL has begun its campaign to expand into several Asian markets including China, Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines. In fact, teams have already been added from Canada and China with more to come in 2009 when the Salem Stampede returns to action.
“We have some great things planned for the franchise that I know our fans will be excited to hear about, said Veliz. The Stampede will continue to have a competitive team with familiar and fresh faces along with its dance team. “We will also be conducting a competition to help us create and name a team mascot later this year,” added Veliz.
The Salem Stampede wishes to thanks its loyal fans and sponsors for their continued support and dedication to the team. “Our fans should feel very confident that their Salem Stampede will return with a great product for all to enjoy,” said Veliz.

Stampede host basketball clinic on the Siletz Reservation for kids. Your Salem Stampede continued their giving ways as they volunteered to host a free basketball clinic to the youth of the Siletz Tribe. Antone Jarrell, Blake Walker and Doug Lamb ran the kids through a series of drills.
The day was broken up into two groups. The first group was for kids 8 - 12 years of age and the second group was 13 - 18 years old.
Salem wants to thank the Siletz Tribe for hosting us and allowing us to help out the kids from the surrounding area. Salem's championship run ends with loss to Portland 140 - 123. The Chinooks used an outstanding closing performance to upset the top seeded Stampede on Saturday. Portland outscored Salem 39-23 in the fourth quarter to cement the win. The Chinooks will face Santa Barbara in the West Region final at 4:00pm on July 1. David Lucas led the Chinooks with a game high 30 points. Shammgod Wells added 28 points in the victory. The Salem Stampede make their run in the Western Confernce Championship Tournament begining this Friday, June 29th at Warner Pacific College (click Warner Pacific College for directions). The Stampede play at 8 p.m. vs. the winner of a first round game.

Stampede take on Vancouver Thursday night! Your Salem Stampede return home against the Vancouver Volcanoes. The Stampede hope to get back on the winning track after coming off a tough road swing through California.
Game Time: 7:15 p.m. Gates Open: 6:15 p.m. Stampede drop third game in a row. The Salem Stampede lost their third game in a row to the Chico Force 116-122. Jeff Dunn scored 26 points for the Stampede in the loss.
The Stampede return home this Thursday, May 24th vs. the Vancouver Volcanoes. Tip-off is at 7:15 p.m. Stampede drop second game of the season in Santa Barbara The Salem Stampede dropped only their second game of the season 144-120 to the Breakers in Santa Barbara. Jeff Dunn led all scores with 34 points.
Salem was ahead 105-100 heading int the fourth quarter, but Santa Barbara closed out the game 40-17 over the Stampede. Salem handed their first defeat of the season in double overtime thriller! The Titans dealt the Stampede their first loss this season with a thrilling 183-179 victory in double overtime. The teams’ 362 combined points is a new IBL record. Blake Walker and Sheu Oduniyi led the way for Salem, with Walker scoring 45 points, and Oduniyi adding 35 in the loss.
A controversial play at the end of the first overtime might have cost the Stampede the game. Will Funn was fouled just before time expired. The referees overturned the foul and said it was after the buzzer. The foul would have given Funn two free throws. He would have had to only make one to win the game. Stampede Improve to 11-0! The Salem Stampede surpassed last year's record of 10 wins by defeating the Chico Force in Chico, CA 145-128. Leading scorer for the game was Blake Walker with 32 points and 10 rebounds. Antone Jarrell scored 30 points and added 14 rebounds. Sheu Oduniyi had his best game of the season with 22 points. Will Funn hasd 18 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists. Nick DeWitz hasd 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocked shots.
Salem takes on the Tri-Valley Titans tomorrow night! The Salem Stampede Dance Team and Staff will be participating in the 2007 Keizer Iris Festival Parade. The event kicks off this Saturday in Keizer. The Stampede will be handing out candy, coupons and other great prizes. See you there!
