ceremony7caption   Anthony and Melinda Veliz founded the Salem Stampede in 2005. The Veliz vision to bring pro basketball to the Capital city became a reality in 2006. The Stampede joined the International Basketball League (IBL)and tipped off in March 2006. The Salem debut was nothing short of spectacular.  Stampede great Eric Fiegi used his first pro game as a showcase. Scoring 47 points in a
win at Central Oregon.  Fiegi went on
to lead the IBL in scoring from day one to close.


   In 2007 Salem captured the IBL Southwest Division Championship. Finishing the season with a league best record of 19-4.


   Salem will play in a soon to be announced league. The Stampede will play a 24 game schedule beginning in February 2010 and concluding with the championship scheduled for June 2010.


   The Salem Hoop will be the new home of the Stampede.  The Salem Hoop is a basketball training academy.  Equipped with six regulation basketball courts, cardio equipment and weights. In addition the Hoop offers world class coaching and training.


   The Stampede Dance team is also preparing for its return to the floor.


   Also look for the naming and introduction of the teams first ever mascot.
